Covering Your RAS
Your what? You ask.
RAS
It's the acronym for:
Reticular Activating System
And we all possess it.
According to: innovateus.net -
…it’s considered “the brain’s
attention center and the
main hub
of motivation.”
Our RAS is where “our thoughts,
internal feelings and
outside
influences converge.”
What a network, ‘eh?
And I’ve read elsewhere
that some consider it a
three point
system of:
…positive focusing,
negative filtering
and individual
perception.
It’s obviously an all-important
region of awareness.
They say:
“The RAS filters out everything
except what it thinks is important.”
‘“It acts as a filter against
all the “data” that’s around us.”
So, whether we realise it or not –
…this system helps us
sort through stimuli that
does and doesn’t
help us.
Phew.
Aren’t you glad
