Mother’s Directives
“Deborah”
–
…my mother used to say
when she was serious.
“Shoulders back + chest out!”
“I would, if there was
a chest to stick out”,
I chirped back.
“Well, stick-out what ever
you’ve got!”,
she demanded!
Ha. My mom.
She was a no nonsense
corker. Still is.
But, she was teaching me
to present myself
in a proper fashion.
It was all about my posture;
chest or no chest.
Physical stance / posturing
ourselves is important.
It’s a positive preparation,
if you will.
Staying mindful of this
on a daily basis,
…will
help us communicate better.
Mentally,
physically + emotionally,
…we’ll exude more positivity
+ more confidence.
To this day I can hear her
precious directives in my head.
And I’ll
always be grateful.
Because they’re still
helping me today.
On this Mother’s Day,
note something invaluable
your mother taught you.
I value you + your views,
so let's communicate!
