The Joy Thief
Do you know what
I consider “the joy thief”?
Envy.
Envy - both noun + verb:
“The feeling of a
discontented or resentful
longing aroused by someone
else's possessions,
qualities, or luck.”
“The painful feeling of
wanting what someone
else has, like attributes
or possessions.”
Yep.
Two in one.
And we’ve all experienced it.
It’s part of our human condition.
But, it isn’t mentally,
physically, spiritually
or emotionally beneficial
to any of us.
When we open “the door”
to envy, “the thief” is free
to rob us of joy.
So the Sunday SideLines
reminder for us today is:
Don’t allow ENVY to
STEAL your JOY.
Lock out ‘The Joy Thief’!
When do you find
yourself entertaining
this “thief”?
I value you + your views,
so let’s communicate!
