Summering
Guess what?
I’m officially
‘summering’.
I mean, we’re knee deep
into July + we’ll be
slip-sliding into August
before you know it, ‘eh?
It’s Summer.
And it actually
feels like it, too.
Woo-hoo!
The sun is shining
all over the place.
And I’m following it.
So, here’s to a bright,
relaxing + sunny
season.

Knowing Me Knowing You
Just reading this line
makes us think about
Abba’s melancholic
chart topper, right?
And though this
particular song’s lyrics
are about breaking-up,
there’s a greater truth
in these four words.
We can’t actually know
ourselves well until we
know each other better.
Being + becoming more
than we are requires
a conscious awareness;
a friendly familiarity
with each other.
And this can happen
in person or virtually,
as long as we communicate
in order to get to know
each other better.
When we share our
experiences, our views,
our opinions, our feelings
AND our true selves,
we grow.
Individually + together.
You get to know me,
I get to know you.
Internal Motivation
I wonder.
Do we ever take
notice of our internal
(or intrinsic)
motivation?
You know, the stuff we
enjoy doing for ourselves.
The vital activities
that keep us sharp,
happy + self-satisfied.
Whether it's planting,
painting, sailing, or singing
doing various things
that we enjoy is a
positive activity that
will enhance our lives.
And any thing that
enhances our lives
usually makes us more
effective all 'round.
