This Fire

There is a blaze.

A personal and/or

communal "fire".

And we can see + feel

the flames.

They’re all around us.

It’s uncomfortable because

we prefer cool comfort.

But, we’re all

singed by it.

If we’re not, perhaps

something’s wrong.

I think we need

to see + feel the heat.

Because, this fire,

 this “furnace of affliction"

can refine us + redefine us.

How are you affected

by the "fire" you see + feel?

I value you + your views,

so let’s communicate!

New Eyes

Sometimes it would

behoove us + improve us

to have ‘new eyes’.

New eyes?

Yep.

Creative eyes.

Thinking outside

the box eyes.

And reimagining

life eyes.

Proust understood this.

“The real voyage of

discovery consists not

in seeking new landscapes

but in having new eyes.”

Eyes to see

thing’s uniquely.

Eyes to envision

what can be.

Eyes to discover

what we’re meant

to uncover.

What have you

discovered + uncovered

lately?

I value you + your views,

so let’s communicate!

Fuubutsushi

Say what?

This noun is pronounced:
'foo-boo-tsoo-shi'

The word is Japanese
for “Scenery Poetry.”

Ahhh…so this is what
I’ve been experiencing
every Autumn.

The fresh + cooler
weather scents.

The
changing + colorful
foliage.

The earthy + cozy
layered clothing.

The fascinating views of
migrating wildlife.

The lush + flavorful
harvest comfort food.

And the evocative
holidays + traditions.

This transitional season

offers us rich ‘scenery poetry’.

And I’m all about it.

What one thing in particular

is "fuubutsushi" to you?

I value you + your views

so, let's communicate!

Sunshiny House

Shiny Happy Person

Long ago, William Makepeace
Thackeray said:

“A good laugh is
sunshine in a house”.

Ha. I couldn’t agree more.

A quick AI overview
points out that it:

Reduces stress.

Improves blood flow.

Lowers blood pressure.

Increases good cholesterol.

AND promotes happiness.

What a no brainer, ‘eh?

So, my Sunday SideLines
encouragement this week
is to LAUGH more.

You’ll benefit your
heart health.

And you’ll have a

sunshiny house.

Do you laugh a lot

inside your home?

I value you + your views

so, let's communicate!

Fill Your Lacuna

Words fascinate me.

So lacuna grabbed

me straight-away.

What’s 'lacuna'?

Well, the simple

Merriam-Webster

Dictionary definition is:

'A missing part, a blank

or empty unfilled space or gap’.

The Psychology Dictionary

definition is:

'A gap or break, say,

a gap in memory’.

The “Debby Dictionary”

definition of lacuna is:

An unfulfilled longing.

So, I ask you.

Is there a personal

and/or professional

 ‘space’ in your life

that needs to be filled?

And what do you

need to fill it with?

Because, if you know

it’s something that

will improve you, you should

find it + fill your lacuna.

Your exploratory “dive”

could produce a pearl!

What have you discovered

 that fills your “lacuna”.

I value you + your views,

so let’s communicate!

 Your Take Away?

You think you’ve heard

 it all before, but

you’re still listening.

Because what you’re

hearing makes sense.

You listen,

because you learn.

You learn,

 so you can apply.

You apply so you

get the results

you need.

So, this is your

take-away:

Applying what you’ve

 learned from what

you’ve heard can

make you wiser.

And your wisdom will

help you move forward

with confidence.

What have you

recently learned that

you’re going to apply?

I value you + your views,

so let's communicate!

 SISU Heroes

I can honestly say

I’ve witnessed some

serious SISU of late.

Yep, this Finnish word

(si-soo) perfectly describes

what I’ve read, seen + felt.

It means:

Extraordinary

determination + grit,

especially in the face

of adversity.

The courage to take

action against slim odds.

Having integrity AND

taking responsibility.

So, I now consider

people who practice Sisu

to be strong, trusted

men + women

of substance.

I actually call

them: “Sisu Heroes”.

You know;

'Braveheart’s’ who stand

up for us all + give us hope

in a time filled with fear,

chronic chaos + uncertainty.

Even while I enjoyed

a bright + peaceful

respite; I sorely needed

to be reminded that there

are Sisu Heroes in our world.

Do you have any

Sisu Heroes in your life?

I value you + your views

so, let’s communicate!
